Cat Power & The Memphis Rhythm Band: Live, That Tent, Bonnaroo Music Festival, Manchester, TN, 6/16/06

Speaking on the new Chan, anyone who ever went to a Cat Power gig knows it's a gamble - you either come away wishing her death for wasting your time and money with her antics, or you tend to rationalize it as being gypsy art. Well, gist is Chan has cleaned up her live image and performance persona considerably. And she stopped drowning in juice too (she jokes about it in Part 2 of this gig). This PopMatters review of a recent gig will explain further.
The music sounds great too, and the rhythm section is vamped up on some traditionally sombre songs, such as Lived in Bars. Kudos of course to the Memphis Rhythm Band.
Anyways, here's Part 1 of the show. More later.

I'm one of the unlucky few who saw a bad Chan show (she left the stage after 20 minutes). This recording totally makes up for it! Thanks!
