Missing Cuff The Duke was a Crime of Unparalled Proportions

Somewhere between recovering from the wedding and finishing off the several papers I have to write at my day job, I missed Oshawa boys Cuff The Duke when they came around last weekend to the Sidetrack Cafe in the City of Champions to strut their alt-country stuff. Word about town is that was one rollicking good show (read this review). This goes in my list of "Damnit, how did I miss this" gigs, alongside The Constantines. For those of you who haven't heard Cuff The Duke, this band is one of Canada's best offerings to the world (and there are many!). Check out these tunes and then go a-searching for Life Stories For Minimum Wage, their hard to find 2002 cd. Plus, search my archives at the Hype Machine, I posted a life set not too long ago.

Missing Cuff was a crime. Edmonton and regina were the only two cities where they headlined, it was reallly a Hylozoist tour.
