Julie Felix was American, not British, though she became a big star in the UK, where she had her own TV series. She's unfairly forgotten these days, and most of her early recordings are out of print. Her best album, "Changes", deserves a CD reissue.
Julie is still active as a singer and peace campaigner, and has her own website: http://knibb.org/juliefelix/
thanks for these excellent LC songs, and thanks in general for your wonderful blog. truly one of MY top ten (5? 2? 1?) favorite blogs.
I just started watching a bunch of R. Altman films, and if you haven't seen it recently, watch McCabe and Mrs. Miller. There is an incredible L. Cohen soundtrack, and even more amazingly, the director's commentary on the film gives a great story about how he chose that soundtrack. Watching the film, I KNEW there had to be a story behind it, and boy, is there ever.
Thanks again for all your time and posts. They ARE appreciated!
Brad
