The Arcade Fire! The Super Secret "Neon Bible" Preview Live Gig at St. Michael's Church, Montreal, January 20, 2007

Well folks, this is the closest we will probably get to hearing tracks on the upcoming and very much hyped out Arcade Fire record, Neon Bible, due out March 6, 2007. Or at best, you can call this the first live version, unless of course you live in privileged places or were invited to this gig. Turns out this was an unannounced show for the band's friends and those who got word of it a few hours before show time, in the basement of a famous Montreal church in the Mile End area where the band lives/hangs out. Be aware that the song titles are unconfirmed, so don't leave me those brain threats about how much you know unreleased Arcade Fire more than I do. I suspect the song labeled "Building Downtown" is actually called "Antichrist Television Blues".

The fabulous Final Fantasy opened.

CYHSY: Some "Bloody Awesome" Loud Thunder

I just listened to the new Clap Your Hands Say Yeah record titled "Some Loud Thunder". I'll go out on a limb here and say that this is an equally fantastic if not better record than the first. From the scratchy intentionally distorted notes of the opener "Some Loud Thunder", through the multi-layered "Mama, , Won't You Keep Them Castles in the Air and Burning", these guys have made another keeper and a very worthy sophomore album.

For those of you wondering how I heard it, it through legit quarters. All you have to do is go to Insound to pre-order the cd and you'll receive a link to the digital album with your purchase. Sweet deal.

Sample:
